The visual identity for this project was inspired by the hollow mask illusion and its unique effect on schizophrenic individuals – a metaphor for Bert’s hidden personas. Initially, our team at Undefined lacked the 3D expertise to render the mask digitally, so we took a hands-on approach.
Partnering with LMNT, we created a physical cast of Bert’s face. This practical solution yielded surprisingly compelling images, so we decided to feature the mask-making process itself. Process is key!
